We asked our AEIP a single question:

"Analyze and compare my performance in Gmail over all my sending identities."

What happened next is what makes an AEIP different from a dashboard with a chat window.

Then it investigated. Found that 69% of Win-back bounces were "User not found" errors. Concluded this was a list quality problem—stale addresses that haven't been cleaned in months.

But it still wasn't done.


The AI's Self-Directed Investigation

Here's what we observed: the platform kept following its own trail of discoveries, each finding triggering the next question.

The AI's first self-generated question:

"What's causing Win-back to perform so poorly?"

What it found: 69% of bounces are hard bounces—"User not found" errors. The list contains old, invalid addresses.

The AI's second self-generated question:

"How does engagement decay compare across all marketing identities?"

What it found: A clear hierarchy emerged. Abandoned Cart (34.9% opens) significantly outperforms Newsletter (27.9%), Promotional (22.0%), and Win-back (18.0%). The gap suggests varying levels of subscriber fatigue.

The AI's third self-generated question:

"Is this a geographic problem?"

What it found: No. CTOR varies only 0.78 percentage points across all regions. The platform ruled out timezone and cultural factors—the problem is campaign-specific, not geographic.

The AI's fourth self-generated question:

"What about send timing?"

What it found: Peak engagement happens at 5-6 PM, but emails are being sent heavily during 7-11 AM when engagement drops to 18-29%. A timing mismatch that could be suppressing performance by 2-3x.


The Synthesis

After four layers of self-directed investigation, the platform delivered its diagnosis:

Three-tier performance hierarchy:

  1. Transactional Excellence (47-65% opens) — maintain this reputation
  2. Behavioral Marketing (35% opens) — Abandoned Cart working well
  3. Broadcast Marketing (18-28% opens) — needs immediate optimization

Four critical actions:

  1. Clean the Win-back list — 0.72% bounce rate is reputation-damaging
  2. Shift marketing send times to 5-6 PM
  3. Reduce Promotional frequency — 22% open rate suggests fatigue
  4. Leverage transactional reputation for cross-promotion opportunities

The conclusion:

"Your infrastructure and transactional content are excellent. The issues are purely list hygiene and send timing optimization for marketing campaigns."

All from one question. In about 60 seconds.
